It's Friday -
Can you believe it :)
started off a little later than usual. The band did get to sleep in after a
long night and did not have to report to breakfast until 8:00 am. The last
breakfast was a breakfast sandwich, tater tots, and an orange. The seniors sat
together at the head tables for their last few meals.
At 9:00, the
band returned to the field for the last time to march through their show in
sets with music. The chaperones, stafferones, and staff packed up their gear.
The weather decided not to cooperate with us and it started to sprinkle. However,
the band continued their hard work and dedication until 11:00. At 11:00, the
band played through their entire 2017 show for some members of the Lake Ann
staff and parents/stafferones that accompanied us to band camp.
The show has
come a long way since home camp and will continue to become more amazing as the
months go on. The band helped pack up the trailer and U-Haul and trailer.
At 12:00 pm,
the band broke for their last lunch at Lake Ann’s until next year. Chicken tender
sandwiches (with an assortment of toppings), french fries, and a cookie was served.
The band returned to their cabins to load their things on Lake Ann’s trolley's
and checked out of cabins. Once that was completed, they could roam the camp
for free time until the buses arrived
pulled out of Lake Ann parking lot around 2:00 pm and arrived back at Stevenson
at 6:45 pm. It was a long week at Lake Ann but we know the members of the
marching band have everlasting memories. We are sure that you will hear “This
One Time at Band Camp…” several times as they share their stories.
We look forward
to the upcoming season and seeing the band earn their lucky number 26 1st
